In its fourteenth edition, the CAYC Institutional Conference reached full capacity, a clear sign of the growing interest and importance of this annual event for the region’s agri-food sector. Once again, SPHERAG was proud to participate as a sponsoring company.
This year, under the theme “Implementation of the PERTE in Irrigation,” technicians, academics, and political representatives addressed crucial topics for the irrigation sector, such as water management and sustainable rural development.

Digital innovation in service of water management
The transformation of irrigation is progressing by leaps and bounds thanks to the implementation of digital and information technologies. These tools enable more efficient and sustainable water management, optimizing its use and reducing environmental impact.
At the same time, the digitalization of hydraulic infrastructure plays a key role in sustainable rural development. By improving irrigation efficiency and enabling water traceability throughout the consumption chain, pressure on water resources is reduced and availability is ensured.

It is essential to address these challenges holistically, combining technological innovation with appropriate public policies and the involvement of all stakeholders in the sector. Events like the CAYC Institutional Conference provide a space for knowledge sharing and open dialogue, which are critical to moving forward.
From SPHERAG, we would like to thank the organizers of the 14th CAYC Institutional Conference for their excellent work, and all the attendees for their participation.
