Empresas #PorElClima, an Initiative Promoting Sustainable Development
Empresas #PorElClima is an initiative of the Comunidad #PorElClima, with ECODES in the executive secretariat, which promotes the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda among Spanish companies. This initiative encourages ambition within the private sector to combat climate emergency and work together toward decarbonization.
In this edition, the best business practices for climate action in Spain have been recognized: the 10+10 Business Examples #PorElClima, with two categories: companies with over 250 employees and SMEs.
It is crucial for large companies to commit to climate change action, and for SMEs, which are the backbone of the Spanish economy, to join this challenge.
Comunidad #PorElClima has been highlighting the private sector’s commitment for six years now. In 2018, Comunidad #PorElClima launched the first “#PorElClima Stories from the Private Sector” report, gathering climate actions from 52 companies. Since then, the initiative has evolved with the support of various organizations and allies, including Fundación Biodiversidad, the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact, ECODES, Aclima, the Club for Excellence in Sustainability, Forética, and the Spanish Group for Green Growth, as well as BBVA, CaixaBank, and Iberdrola.

To achieve this, we have developed a convenient, simple, and accessible digital tool that enables them to simplify water management in agricultural settings within the complex context of climate change and water scarcity.
